3 DAYS IN NEW YORK CITY AS A FIRST TIMER

New York City

Hola!!

Long-time no see, huh?! I know.

Blame Mercury Retrograde.

Back in August, I traveled to New York City for the very first time in my life.

The Big Apple was on my to-do list for sure, but I never felt that “OMG” feeling in my stomach to visit. Am I making any sense?

Well, I hope I do.

I arrived late in New York after my flight got delayed for 3 hrs.

I was scared, and I’m not going to lie. You know me, I’m always acting strong.
On the ride to my hotel, I couldn’t concentrate on what my Lyft driver was telling me, (I had a very, very talkative driver) I was so focused on seeing everything around me. Read more

BIRTHDAY TRIP 2018 WITH MAZDA

Disney world 2018

Our Birthday was back in April.

It’s no secret that instead of planning parties (which in my opinion parties are a waste of dinero)

I would first Jailah have an experience that she will always remember.

She’s only had two actual birthday parties, her first Birthday and when she turned 7.

Instead, we make birthday trips.

We usually take our birthday trip during the same month as our birthdays, but this year we decided to wait a little longer.

Our destination: Disney World!

We’ve been to Disneyland 3 times.

For most of our trips of we head over to the west coast, California specifically, which we love and can never get enough of.

This year we decided to switch it up and head over to the east coast, give Florida a try, and visit Disney World.

MY SIGNATURE BUN LOOK WITH A TOUCH OF SELENA

Today is Selena’s Birthday!

Selena Quintanilla LookThis weekend my daughter and I watched the Selena movie.
It’s fantastic to see the effect that her legacy still has on kids these days.

We’ve watched her movie before and also listen to her songs all the time.
For some reason, my daughter was wholly invested in her movie this time, and she cried at the end.

All weekend she kept saying, why did Selena die.
Questions we still ask til this day.

To honor her on her birthday, I wanted to create a look similar to her iconic looks. Read more

MY FIRST SMOKEY-ISH EYE LOOK

It’s no secret that my safe place when it comes to makeup is warm colors.

I have always admired makeup artists and people that create smokey eyes.
Mainly when they use black eye shadow.

Neutrogena #Neverbetter

They say that as a makeup lover, you shouldn’t be scared to experience outside of your comfort zone.
I wish it were a lot easier for me to incorporate more smokey eye looks.

Finally, I decided to give it a try.

I went for it and created a light smokey eye look.

WHAT I WORE FOR WE ALL GROW SUMMIT 2018

#Wellnessday18
It is no secret that a lot of #WeAllGrow Summit attendees were

a bit stressed about what to wear for the event, including my self.

I had a vision of what I wanted to wear.
Although low key, I knew it wasn’t going to work out for me.

Two weeks before the event, I started to look for outfits officially.
You know it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t leave things till the last minute.
I researched online boutiques, amazon, clothing stores, the mall; you name it!

I think what got me a little stressed was the welcoming party on the first night.
Last year’s event was something more chill, so it was easy for me to put an outfit together, this year Neutrogena wanted to go all out with a welcoming carpet party.

I am not really into dresses. I’m short, so I don’t think that they favor me very much.
Plus you know I got lonjas (love handles)

Finally, two days before the event, I was able to put my outfits together.
I wanted to share with you all on this post.

FIVE WAYS TO DEAL WITH SELF-DOUBT

Crystal Cove

We live in a world full of constant pressures.

We often come across the perfect mom, a dedicated wife, an ideal body, a great career, and a great relationship.

Honestly, as much as we try not to compare ourselves, we simply can’t.

We simply can’t help but pressure ourselves with what we “think” we should be doing.

Self-doubt is hard for us to understand, but that we continuously fall for.
I’ve been a victim of this feeling several times.

As we begin to age, not that 28 or 30 is such an old age, we often get pressured about what we should accomplish by a certain age or time frame.
For the most part, we put pressure on ourselves.

For 2018 I am making some beauty resolutions.
Now the big goal is to be able to stick to the resolutions all year long.

You all know I have been dealing with acne all year long.
I must confess I did pretty good creating and maintaining a beauty routine all year long.
Honestly, it was a bit challenging, especially when you’re exhausted, or if you love to sleep like me.

For 2018 I want to improve my beauty routine even more by setting up some resolutions.

It’s no surprise that I love colorful lipsticks.
While strolling through Ross, I came across a package from NYX with some lip glosses.
The package came with 3 Intense Butter Glosses for $6.99.
Now you know I couldn’t pass this fantastic offer. Usually, each lipstick is around that price for just one.

I was instantly captivated by a specific shade on the package.
I’m sure you know by now how much I luffffff bright lipsticks.

THINGS I WANT TO TEACH MY DAUGHTER ABOUT BEING STRONG

THINGS I WANT TO TEACH MY DAUGHTER ABOUT BEING STRONG

Being strong is a difficult subject to discuss.
2017 was the year where being too strong finally bit me on the tail.
2018 I want to focus a little more and experience vulnerability.
Confession, I can’t say vulnerability in real life lol.

I’ve discussed before how my daughter experiences sensitivity a lot more than I do.
For the past few years, I’ve had the wrong concept when it came to be strong.
With a little time, I was able to gather some ideas on what to teach my daughter about being strong.

MY WORD FOR 2018

Hello, 2018!

For this year, I wanted to start my first 2018 blog post with something different.
For the first time, I am choosing a word for 2018.

GROW

verb
(of a living thing) undergo natural development by increasing in size and changing physically; progress to maturity.

For the past few years, I’ve been afraid to grow.
I’ve been making up tons of excuses.
I have been sitting in my comfort zone for too long, way too long, I would say.
I’ve wanted to learn more or do different things.

I feel like my brain is not capable of learning more than what I know, which is dumb, I know.
